Will any NFL team sign Colin Kaepernick?
Agent Colin Kaepernick explains why he is not optimistic about getting a deal from the NFL after rigorous training.
After watching Colin Kaepernick working for about 40 minutes in Atlanta on Saturday, Jeff Nally is not optimistic about his client's chances of getting a signature by the NFL team.
Nali spoke to the media, after the exercise, and although he admitted that he hoped Kaepernick would be signed, the full-back would remain a free agent.
Asked about the possibility of signing Kaepernick, Nali added
'I really hope so, but I don't know'.
I'll be honest, I'm a bit pessimistic now because I've talked to all 32 teams, lately, I've communicated with them, and none of them were interested, I'll tell you this: the team didn't ask for this exercise, the league office asked This exercise.
The exercise is supposed to take place at the Falcon Training Facility in Flower Branch, Georgia after they did not agree to the conditions set by the league for the exercise, but Camp Kypernick named it audible and transferred the exercise to a local high school.
I’m just getting word from my representatives that the NFL league office reached out to them about a workout in Atlanta on Saturday. I’ve been in shape and ready for this for 3 years, can’t wait to see the head coaches and GMs on Saturday.— Colin Kaepernick (@Kaepernick7) November 13, 2019
It is expected that there will be 25 teams represented in the exercise, but after Kaepernick switched the site, only eight teams ended up appearing. Although he ended up in front of a smaller audience than expected, Kaepernick still had a big day.
Apparently, the NFL wanted Kaepernick to sign an 'extraordinary waiver of liability' that was different from the standard waiver signed by most players before the NFL exercise.
'I have to tell you what I should hand over to Colleen, he went up and showed he is in good shape,' Nally said. I talked to NFL people here today.'
I even asked them, If you want to get it wide, see what it weighs, they said, We don't need that. He looks torn. It looks great.
Nalley is a bit optimistic about one aspect of the Kaepernick exercise, and that's the fact that the league office has prepared everything. Apparently, Nally believes that since Roger Goodell was ready to start a 25-team exercise, the NFL commissioner might be able to convince at least one team to give Kypernik a chance.
Colin Kaepernick Atlanta Workout:
As for Kaepernick, he is keen to get this opportunity.
'I've been ready for three years,' said Kypernik after his workout. 'We have been exiled for three years. We all know why I came here today and showed it to everyone. We have nothing to hide.'
A league executive said the league's perception was that most teams were on their way to training to verify Kaepernick with his signature in 2020 if they were to sign it at all.
Colin Kaepernick:
'So we're waiting for the 32, the 32 teams, Roger Goodell, they all stop running, they stop running from people, here, we're ready to play, we're ready to go anywhere, and also Jeff Nally is ready to talk to any team, any Time I will interview any team.'
The free midfielder, who has not played since the end of the 2016 season, said the NFL needed to stop running from the truth.
Although Kaepernick may not be signed before the end of the 2019 season, there is still a chance he can be signed this season.
